Program Description
Ref 110 INTRODUCTION TO REFRIGERATION (12 HRS)
This course includes the basic refrigeration cycle, application of low, medium and high temperature systems, and the typical equipment associated with those systems and basic wiring of control systems. |
Ref 111 MEDIUM AND HIGH TEMPERATURE (12 HRS)
This course deals with specific compressors, relays, controls, and different types of installations. This will include piping, oil migration, receivers, and cut-in/cut-out controls. How to properly read compressor data plates is included in this course. Students also wire and pipe a walk-in freezer. |
Ref 112 LOW TEMPERATURE REFRIGERATION (12 HRS)
This course deals with specific pump-down controls, pressure controls, thermostats, defrost systems, and commercial rack systems. Also included are Mullion heaters, timers, and fan controls. Students record readings and make adjustments to an operating walk-in freezer. |
Ref 113 COMMERCIAL AIR CONDITIONING (12 HRS)
This course includes the basic water-cooled heat exchangers, chilled water systems, cooling towers and various restaurant equipment. |
Ref 114 ICE MACHINES (12 HRS)
This course covers the different types of ice makers. The course deals with the cleaning and sanitizing of the equipment, different types of controls to ensure the equipment's proper operation, and troubleshooting and repair of the equipment. |
