QTC FLEX — Hybrid Trade School Training in Las Vegas
We named it FLEX because that’s exactly what it does. The classroom flexes around your work, your family, and your shift — and the hands-on happens in our labs, with an instructor beside you. FLEX is Quality Training Centers’ hybrid format for HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical training.
How it works
Half the Classroom Comes to You. The Lab Never Leaves Campus.
Learn the theory online
Refrigeration cycles, electrical code, system design, safety — the classroom portion of your program, delivered online so you can study around work, family, and life. Early morning, lunch break, midnight — your call.
Master the hands-on in our labs
The wrenching, wiring, brazing, and diagnostics happen where they belong: on real equipment in our 16,000+ square foot Las Vegas facility, in small classes with instructors who worked the trade first.
Graduate job-ready
Same certificate, same employer network, same lifetime career-services support as our on-campus students — because the hands-on standard never changed.
Who FLEX is for
Built to Flex Around Your Life
Most people who want into the trades don’t lack the drive — they lack the hours. You’re working full-time. You’ve got kids. You’re on swing shift at a casino and no class schedule on earth lines up with yours. FLEX exists for exactly that: the classroom bends to your life, you move at your own pace, and the lab time is concentrated where it counts.
It’s also for self-starters who move faster on their own. If you can put in the theory hours without someone taking attendance, you’ll get more out of every lab session — you show up to campus already knowing the why, and spend your time there on the how.
Straight talk: there is no fully online trade school.
Anyone who tells you that you can become an HVAC tech or electrician entirely from a laptop is selling you something that won’t survive your first day on a job site. You cannot braze a line set, pull wire, or diagnose a failing compressor over Zoom. FLEX puts the part of school that can be online, online — and keeps the part that makes you employable on real equipment, in a real lab, with a licensed-contractor-built curriculum. The schedule flexes. The standard doesn’t.

Questions
QTC FLEX FAQs
Why is it called FLEX?
Because that’s the whole idea. The classroom portion flexes around your life — your pace, your hours, your shift. The one thing that never flexes is the hands-on standard: real equipment, real labs, an instructor beside you.
Is QTC FLEX fully online?
No — and no legitimate trade program is. The classroom theory is online; the hands-on training happens on campus in our Las Vegas labs on real equipment. That’s the only way to graduate actually ready for the job.
Can I take HVAC classes online in Las Vegas?
With FLEX, the classroom portion of our HVAC program — theory, systems, code, safety — is online. The lab work is on campus at 3139 Westwood Dr. You get the flexibility of online coursework without giving up the hands-on training employers actually hire for.
Is there an online electrician school in Las Vegas?
FLEX brings our electrical program’s classroom online. Wiring, motors, and controls are learned hands-on in our dedicated wiring lab — trained against the National Electrical Code.
Is the certificate different from the on-campus program?
No. Same program, same certificate, same employer network and lifetime career-services support.
How long does FLEX take?
That’s up to you. FLEX is designed to be completed on your time — you set the pace of the online coursework, and your lab schedule is built with you when you enroll, around your work, your shift, your life. Move fast and finish sooner; need to slow down for a stretch, life happens and the program flexes with it.
Is FLEX approved by the state?
Yes. The Nevada Commission on Postsecondary Education approved Quality Training Centers to deliver all classroom (didactic) training via distance education for our licensed programs. All hands-on training is conducted on campus.
Can I work full-time while doing FLEX?
That’s the point. The coursework fits around your job; campus time is concentrated on lab skills.
I work full time — what’s the fastest path to become an HVAC tech in Las Vegas?
For most working adults, it’s FLEX: keep your job, do the classroom portion online at your own pace, and concentrate your campus time on hands-on lab skills. You’re not waiting on a semester calendar, and the program moves as fast as you do.
Are there night or weekend options?
The online coursework runs on your clock — 5am before work or 11pm after a swing shift, it’s all the same to FLEX. Lab scheduling is built with you at enrollment, and we build it around working adults, not the other way around.
What does FLEX cost?
FLEX tuition is covered with admissions when you tour — and there are plenty of ways to pay: weekly and monthly plans, financing options, and workforce funding for those who qualify. See the ways to pay »
Do I need to be good with computers?
If you can watch a video and take a quiz on your phone or a tablet, you’re set.
Can I use VA education benefits for FLEX?
No — QTC FLEX is not approved for students using VA education benefits. The good news: our on-campus HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical programs are approved for VA education benefits, and most veterans find the on-campus format is the stronger fit for their benefit anyway. See our Military & Veterans page or bring your Certificate of Eligibility to admissions and we’ll map it out.
What if I fall behind on the online coursework?
Your instructors see your progress and reach out before it becomes a problem — small classes mean nobody disappears. And you can always come in; the campus is open to FLEX students, not closed to them.
How do I start?
Book a tour. You’ll see the labs you’ll train in, meet the instructors, and leave with your enrollment plan and a payment plan that fits.
Your Job Won’t Flex. Your Training Finally Does.
Tour the school, see the labs, and get your FLEX enrollment plan — in about an hour.
